Anyone know how to pass the level where that little girl is? I grab the first note and that stupid hog gets me. I made it across the metal but it gets me anyway. Any advice?
Hmm...
I don't recall having any particular trouble with this level. I'm saying this, actually, not to brag or to imply that you shouldn't have trouble either, since that would be rude. The thing is, I tend to remember better the levels where I had trouble, and this wasn't one of them.
This would be in the Palace of Brass, I believe? I think the trick is to get a fix on the next note and really, really high-tail it. That hog sound when it eats you is awful, especially through good headphones...I've never liked it.
Tell you what. I'll go and have a play with this level and tell you what I did, then come back and post more help. Suppose I should've done this first off, so I'm sorry about that.
Okay, so I just did this level a couple of times. Got eaten once, but that was because I was silly and fell down. I've discovered the following:
1. Run. Don't walk. Do it as fast as you can, at all times, particularly when you move on the metal.
2. Do not assume you are safe when you get off the metal, because you aren't. You are probably safe by the time you bash into the wall ahead of you, if you get that far, but that's more than seven steps beyond the metal strip.
3. Make sure to orient yourself to the first note right away, then aim straight at it and run like hell. Don't stop till you hit the note. Not even once.
4. Once you get the second note, the same thing is true. Orient, run, grab note.
5. You can, and perhaps should, finish this level without rescuing the girl. I'll have to monkey with her a little more, but I had no problem whatsoever getting notes and staying away from the hog. He tends to get bored rather easily, even if his quote-unquote contact radius is larger than in other levels.
For some reason, I had all kinds of misery with the chessboard level when I first played this game, and I also had trouble with a level or two in the Palace of Glass, which you're about to start. One in particular, involving a cathedral with broken glass and chickens...but they've recently (as in, last build) upped the difficulty of the very last level in the Palace of Glass itself. Anyway, good luck. If you need more tips, just give a holler and I'll see what I can do.
Good suggestion. My trouble is on that ice lake. I have yet to beat that one.
All I can say about that one is don't rescue the siren. As far as I ever saw, she's instant death. Also, I'm fairly sure the chickens respawn, so you could potentially lure the hog away, open the coop, get the hog distracted, then beat feet.
Ok. I finished the entire game a month or so ago. The only issue I had was with the chess level. with the little girl level, by no means should you rescue her...That's the point of the game. You arent' supposed to rescue any of the characters you encounter.
To minimize on how many metal stips you hit, I advise moving to either the right or the left of where you are after you enter. You won't hit as meny metal strips if you rotate yourself a little now and then. But once you do hit the metal, run, but gracefully. You dont' have to be terribly fast, just consistant. And actually, try to avoid hitting the wall, because the hogs react to that as well. They hear you hit the was and you're dead usually thereafter, since you don't have much room to move. Good luck.
I always play the rescuer in that game or any game, I did successfully rescue everyone but the siren and the old man. With the little girl you just have to take your time. Guess I'll be leaving the siren though lol
Leo, how do you rescue the baby?
Ok tried to post but lost it.
So this is early in the game the hogs are somewhat slower. You want to make sure the hog is at the other end of the game board when you pick up the baby. The baby won't slow you. I sneak back, make some noise at the other end of the borad, then run back while the hog is running down to the noise then grab the baby and run through the ringing door.
What happens if you do rescue the baby. Does that change the rest of the levels at all? do you get to keep the baby? lol
I wish that rescuing or not rescuing a victim changed the story in some ways, but it doesn't. There appears to be no secret content or anything, though it'd be neat if there was.
The only one I never rescued was the old man. I think I even managed the siren once, on an older build of Papa Sangre. Nowadays it's just not worth it. Silly hog. I don't like having my character's body ripped apart.
I rescued the baby today. gotta try the girl. I dont' like the old man or the siren, so screw them. I'll save myself instead. hahahahahaha The baby is so cute though. Reminds me of my own.
